It was a day that Americans would never forget and would live in infamy forever more - December 7, 1941. That morning Japanese warplanes appeared over the Hawaiian Islands to launch a surprise aerial bombardment of American air and naval installations that damaged or destroyed all eight battleships and numerous support craft propelling the United States into the Second World War. A timeline describes the consequences to each major ship highlighting the stories of sailors and airmen who attempted to save American naval assets in the Pacific Ocean to fight another day. Using individual stories of the men who responded to the attack, Pearl Harbor A Day of Infamy presents the tactics and the consequences of the most treacherous assault ever launched upon American soil. The text includes GPS coordinates of all important monuments and museums. A full color Fields of War guide to Second World War battlefields.
