Delicate tangerine and yellow peach flavors are layered in smoke and dusty slate in this sprightly off-dry Riesling. It's a light-footed, piercing wine anchored by nervous lemon-lime acidity. The finish is long and lean, accented by a touch of dried herb. Stefan Steinmetz is the fourth generation of his family to make wine in Brauneberg, in the Mosel. Stefan is dedicated to “working close to nature,” as he puts it. They practice what they call “natural viticulture,” which means using no fertilizers, herbicides, or insecticides, plus controlling yields and carefully harvesting and sorting by hand. They’ve focused on acquiring own-rooted Riesling parcels when possible. Staff Review: Probably the best value Riesling in the game. Naturally made by a 4th generation family member. Think lemon lime with great acidity and just a touch of sweetness. Enjoy!
