Step into a sensory journey with Matchbook Distilling's Day Trip Strawberry Amaro. This unique liqueur, presented in a generous 750mL bottle, boasts a captivating 19% ABV, making i t a delightful addition to your collection. Crafted from Northfork Strawberry Wine and North Fork Strawberry Wine Eau de Vie, this Amaro is a testament to the beauty of unexpected beginnings. Its story starts with the Mattituck Lions Strawberry Festival, where leftover strawberries were rescued and transformed into a stunning strawberry wine. This wine was then distilled into a strawberry eau de vie, which was combined back into the wine with a cornucopia of vibrant botanicals. Nettle, quassia, jasmine, rose, and nutmeg fruit were all added to the mix, creating a complex and layered flavor profile. The Day Trip Strawberry Amaro is a celebration of individuality. Unlike some aperitifs where the ingredients blend seamlessly, Day Trip allows each component to shine. The strawberry takes center stage, followed by the woody and bitter notes of quassia. Hints of green from the nettle and perfumed notes from the florals round out the experience. It's like a scenic drive through the North Fork, past vineyards, fields of flowers, and serene waters punctuated by dramatic rock formations. This Amaro is best enjoyed on the rocks or with a splash of soda and a bright citrus slice, making it a versatile choice for any occasion. Show more
