The lo-fi sounds of classic games, toys and devices, such as buzzes, beeps and bloops, are very unique and still popular today. Mainframe Bit Crusher takes you back to the days whe n Pac-Man and Donkey Kong ruled the arcades and the Commodore 64 was considered high-tech. Mainframe's sample rate reduction can be set from 48KHz to 110Hz. Sample rate is the number of times per second that a sample or snapshot of an analog signal is taken. For example, a CD has a sample rate of 44.1 kHz, which means that the original analog audio source is sampled 44,100 times per second. Reducing the sample rate will result in lower quality audio and aliasing. Mainframe's sample rates range from pristine to extremely difficult to recognize. It also has a bit crush function ranging from 24 bits to 1 bit. Higher bit depths allow for more accurate dynamic range and creative degradation of the sound, returning it to that "old school" sound we all love. Another very cool feature is the sample rate tuning mode, which analyzes the incoming signal in real time and sets the sample rate to match the pitch of the signal, as well as setting it to the interval above for the signal. This allows you to set the sample rate to match the key of your song or continuously adjust the sample rate based on what you're playing. ■Quick Specs - Sample rate reduction from 48kHz to 110Hz - Bit depth reduction from 24-bit to 1-bit - Selectable High, Low, and Band-Pass filters to shape bit crushing and sample rate reduction artifacts - Sample Rate Tuning Mode to set the sample rate to match the key of the song or continuously adjust the sample rate based on what you're playing - Programmable presets or expression pedal settings to store sounds or control any combination of the mainframe knobs and an external expression pedal - Secondary knob parameters for fine-tuning the mainframe's effects - High-quality buffered bypass and silent switching - Includes EHX 9.6DC-200 adapter - Dimensions: 70 mm (w) x 113 mm (d) x 50 mm (h) Show more
