Unijunction transistor (UJT) housed in a metal TO-18 can, featuring a highly controlled negative-resistance characteristic engineered specifically for precision relaxation oscillat ors, industrial timers, and thyristor/SCR gate trigger pulses. Equivalents: 2N4871, NTE6401 (Note: Modern layouts typically require switching to a programmable UJT like the 2N6027 with external bias resistors). Real-Life Examples: Vintage industrial automated timer controls, electronic sirens, light flasher circuits, and early SCR-driven motor phase-controllers. Show more
