★Next-generation handheld recorder with intuitive touch panel operation and 32-bit float recording ●An app launcher system that allows for incredibly simple recording operations. The camera features a completely new app launcher system. Simply use the circle scroll to select the app that best suits your recording needs from six available apps, and when you launch it, the recording preset will instantly be called up. This means you can focus on recording without having to worry about complicated settings. More recording presets will be added in future updates. ●Easy operation, stress-free with touch panel The 3.5-inch color touch panel, combined with the large-diameter jog wheel, allows for stress-free operation, even when fine-tuning effects and faders. Dual AD Converters and 32-bit Float Recording Support: In addition to the recording level settings in each app, Portacapture X8 achieves a wide dynamic range through powerful audio processing using dual AD converters and 32-bit float recording technology. Recording is possible without fine-tuning the input level, and there's also a normalize function that adjusts the volume of the stereo mix during editing. 8-In/2-Out USB Audio Interface: Simply connect to a computer or mobile device via USB and it functions as a USB audio interface, no driver installation required. Up to 8 input channels (6 inputs + 2 mixes) and 2 output channels are supported, allowing you to simultaneously use the USB microphone, mixer, and built-in recorder functions. For example, you can use the USB microphone and mixer functions simultaneously when recording narration directly into audio editing software or live streaming with OBS Studio. It can also function as both a USB microphone and a recorder for online meetings, all in one unit. The included detachable large-diaphragm condenser microphone can be switched between True XY and AB modes by simply swapping the left and right sides. The 14.6mm large-diaphragm condenser microphone is the largest available for a TASCAM handheld recorder, enabling high-quality stereo recording. *As of November 2021 ● Multi-track recording of up to 8 tracks The Portacapture X8 can simultaneously record up to eight tracks (six tracks + two mixes) to a microSD card (sold separately). It supports both multi-track and mono recording, making it suitable for a wide range of applications, from live band performances to narration recording. Supports a wide range of recordings with a wide range of inputs and outputs It is equipped with four phantom powered microphone inputs and an XLR/TRS combo jack that can accept line-level inputs.* The microphone preamps use HDDA (High Definition Discrete Architecture), a discrete circuit that incorporates TASCAM's expertise, to achieve low-noise, clear recording. Furthermore, if you remove the included detachable condenser microphone, you can connect an external microphone that supports plug-in power via a 3.5mm TRS terminal. It also comes equipped with an EXT IN/LINE OUT jack that doubles as a CAMERA IN/OUT jack for camera use, making it suitable for a variety of recording needs. Audio can be monitored via the headphone jack or the built-in speaker. *Maximum input level: +24dBu ●Bluetooth remote control via mobile app: By using the optional Bluetooth adapter ``AK-BT1,'' you can use the ``Portacapture Control'' app for iPad, iPhone, and Android to perform basic operations such as recording and stopping, as well as access the Portcapture X8 app, load dynamics presets, adjust gain, mix, and control effect parameters. Portacapture Control can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. ●Audio recording tool for video production The Portacapture X8 also offers a flexible solution for videographers and audiovisual recorders. The CAMERA IN terminal supports monitoring audio recorded on the camera itself and wireless microphone input, while the CAMREA OUT terminal can be attenuated by up to 30dB. A camera screw on the back allows you to mount the Portacapture X8 on a camera, tripod, or rig. The cold shoe on the back also allows you to attach a shotgun microphone or wireless receiver. ■ List of features◎3.5-inch color touch panel display for intuitive operation◎App launcher: Recording settings using the launcher system's six recording apps, "Manual," "Voice," "Podcast," "Music," "Field," and "ASMR," as well as instrument tuner and metronome apps◎Four XLR/TRS locking combo jack input terminals *Supports phantom power (24V/48V) for each system *Discrete format HDDA microphone preamp installed◎Supports recording up to 192kHz/32-bit float◎Equipped with a 14.6mm large-diameter condenser microphone, the largest in TASCAM handheld recorders, switchable between AB and True XY modes◎8-In/2-Out USB audio interface function◎Multi-track recording of up to 8 tracks (6 tracks + 2 mixes) is possible◎By attaching the separately sold Bluetooth adapter "AK-BT1," wireless remote control from the free control app "Portacapture Control" is possible ■Other features◎In dual recording mode, each track can be recorded in a different file format◎Equipped with a variety of functions such as low-cut filter, compressor, limiter, auto gain control, reverb, noise gate, and normalization◎Equipped with a CAMERA/EXT IN terminal, allowing you to monitor the camera's recording sound and input audio from a wireless microphone◎Equipped with a CAMERA/LINE OUT terminal with attenuation function, allowing you to output audio to external devices such as a camera◎Audio monitoring via headphone output or built-in speaker◎Compatible with micro SD/micro SDHC/micro SDXC (up to 512GB) recording media◎Equipped with mark function and slate tone function◎Powered by four AA batteries, USB bus power, or dedicated AC adapter (PS-P520U, sold separately) ◎Supports multilingual menu display (English/Japanese/French/Spanish/German/Italian/Chinese/Korean/Russian) ■Includes◎Portacapture X8 x1 ◎ Microphone unit (left and right) ◎4 x AA alkaline batteries ◎Instruction manual (with warranty) ◎TASCAM ID Registration Guide ■Specifications Recording media: microSD (64MB-2GB), microSDHC (4GB-32GB), microSDXC (48GB-512GB) Recording and playback format WAV(BWF): 44.1k/48k/96k/192kHz, 16/24bit, 32bit float MP3: 44.1k/48kHz, 128k/192k/256k/320kbps Number of input channels: 6 Number of recording tracks: 8 (6 tracks, stereo mix) ◎Microphone input (unbalanced) Input terminals 1/2 (plug-in power compatible) Connector: φ3.5mm (1/8") TRS mini jack Maximum input level: +1dBV Minimum input level: -69.3dBV Input impedance: 85kΩ or more Microphone input (balanced) Input terminals 3/4/5/6 (When setting "MIC") Connector: XLR-3-31 equivalent (1: GND, 2: HOT, 3: COLD) φ6.3mm (1/4") TRS standard jack Nominal input level: +4dBu (minimum GAIN setting) Maximum input level: +24dBu Minimum input level: -53dBu Input impedance: 9kΩ or more ◎ Line input (unbalanced) EXT IN terminal Connector: φ3.5mm (1/8") stereo mini jack Nominal input level: -10dBV (minimum GAIN setting) Maximum input level: +10dBV Minimum input level: -48dBV Input impedance: 8.5kΩ or more Line Output (Unbalanced) LINE OUT Connector: φ3.5mm (1/8") stereo mini jack Nominal Output Level: -14dBV Maximum output level: +6dBV Output impedance: 200Ω Headphone Output Connector: φ3.5mm (1/8") stereo mini jack Maximum Output: 45mW + 45mW (THD + N 0.1% or less, into a 32Ω load) Built-in speaker: 0.4W (monaural) ◎USB terminal connector: Type-C Format: USB 2.0 HIGH SPEED Mass Storage Class ◎Bluetooth device connection terminal For use with Bluetooth adapter (AK-BT1) ◎Four AA batteries (alkaline, nickel-metal hydride, or lithium batteries) ◎USB bus power from PC ◎Dedicated AC adapter (TASCAM PS-P520U, sold separately) 7.5W (maximum) 83(W) x 205.6(H) x 41.5(D)mm (including protrusions) 472g / 381g (including batteries / excluding batteries) 0 to 40°C Main unit x 1, included microphone unit x 2, instruction manual (with warranty) x 1, AA alkaline batteries x 4, TASCAM ID registration guide
