Sound Hole Pickup Kalimbas The kalimba is a musical instrument that originated in Africa. It has been loved for centuries and is also known as the "mbira," "sansa," or "thumb piano ." It consists of a wooden resonating box with metal reeds attached, and when the reeds are plucked with the thumb, it produces a delicate, metallic sound. A Pick-Up model has been added to our 17-key soundhole kalimba lineup. The body is made of the same three materials as our existing lineup: acacia, mahogany, and maple. This electric kalimba features a 1/4" mono jack, allowing you to increase the volume of your kalimba sound for live performances and recordings. The kalimba comes with a dedicated case to protect it from scratches and other damage, as well as a microfiber cloth and cotton bag for cleaning and storing the instrument.
