Between 1969 and 1970, Jimi Hendrix used his iconic red Fuzz Face with white knobs for his most famous live performances (Live at Woodstock, Live at Berkeley, Live at the Fillmore East). That fuzz box was completely different from Jimi's previous Fuzz Face pedals, growling with a far more aggressive and biting tone. Although the pedal itself is lost, its unmistakable, distinctive tone lives on in recordings of these three iconic shows, a sound that Hendrix enthusiasts have been trying to capture for years. We are pleased to say that their search for that tone can finally come to a glorious end. After diligently researching all of the various customized circuit designs that Jimi had used over the years, the engineers narrowed down this elusive fuzz tone to a version of the Octavio circuit without the octave-up signal. After several adjustments, a new FuzzFace was born as the Band of Gypsy FuzzFace Mini Distortion. Now you can get the same fuzz-face tone that was used in his most famous performance. Housed in a pedalboard-friendly FuzzFaceMini housing, it features an AC power jack and an on/off status LED.
