The U-BASS is small but has a rich tone. KALA is an American ukulele manufacturer founded in Petaluma, California in 2005. Offering high quality at affordable prices, KALA offers n early 150 models, including travel and bass models in addition to standard models, and a wide variety of woods. It boasts the No. 1 sales share of ukuleles in the continental United States and enjoys tremendous popularity in Hawaii, the home of ukuleles. First introduced in 2008, the popular U-BASS uses special strings made of a rubber-like material that are thicker and more flexible than standard bass strings. Unlike electric bass strings, they offer a short, natural decay, creating a pleasant sound reminiscent of an upright bass. This instrument features an exotic mahogany body, delivering a rich, solid low-end. It features Shadow piezo pips, each with its own independent string, for a balanced sound. Its unique sound and feel are unparalleled, and it's perfectly suited to serious acoustic ensembles.
