The specifications are the same as the current Black Nickel over Brass snare, with a 1mm brass shell and a matte black finish. It has the brightness and sharpness typical of a metal snare drum, and matches a wide range of styles and genres. The hardware features include a 3mm "True Hoop" that maintains the open resonance of a pressed hoop while also providing a sharp attack, a "MAG Throw Off" switch that secures the switch magnetically, and a "5P Butt Plate" that allows for one-touch snare tension adjustment in five stages. DW's unique ideas are also incorporated into the functionality, including "True Pitch 50," which allows for more precise tuning by using a finer mesh than the previous True-Pitch tension rod.
