SR Workshop The SRD series is designed to meet the diverse playing needs of fretless basses. Based on a solid concept, the Ibanez Bass Workshop is a project undertaken by Ibanez to create a new kind of bass that has never been seen before. It involves re-examining one's own bass with a theme in mind and creating an even more exciting bass. And together with bassists who resonate with this vision, it expands the range of joy in playing. Proud to be a Japanese bass brand, Ibanez is committed to this project. ● Okoume wood body with exotic maple top. This SRD-exclusive 3D arched body features an Okoume wood body rich in mid-low frequency characteristics, which are essential to the bass sound, and a maple top with a crisp, clear high-frequency response. (Low gloss finish) ●Half-Hollow, Half-Solid Body Construction: To obtain the rich, resonant low-end tone that is essential to the fretless sound, the lower half of the body on the bass string side is made into a hollow structure. ● 30-fret fingerboard (Panga Panga wood) enabling 2.5 octave range expression. Designed for players who want to technically play up to the high fret zone, the 30-fret fingerboard is made of hard pangapanga wood. (The fret lines on the fingerboard are made of black resin.) ● Slim neck shaped to the ultimate standard, designed for easy gripping for all players. ● Nordstrand Big Break magnetic pickup and Ibanez Aero Silk piezo pickup. The Big Break is a pickup jointly developed by Ibanez and Nordstrand, modeled after Nordstrand's classic Big Single pickup, while employing a split-coil structure for superior noise cancellation. It was designed to deliver a tighter treble and a boomier bass sound. Additionally, the piezo pickup mounted on the bridge saddle allows for sound shaping in an approach similar to that of an upright bass. ●2-Band EQ & Active Tone Control This guitar features two pickup systems, magnetic and piezo. Each pickup has its own independent volume control, and the magnetic pickup has an intuitive 2-band equalizer, while the piezo pickup has a tone control, allowing for a wide range of sound shaping possibilities.
