[Drum Station staff personally visit ed a factory in Istanbul, Turkey to personally select and purchase these cymbals, which are now in stock!] Bosphorus Cymbals was founded in 1996 by three cymbal makers: Hasan Seker, Ibrahim Yakici, and Hasan Ozdemir. The three are the most experienced active cymbal makers in Türkiye and are known as "masters." The three craftsmen who founded Bosphorus were close childhood friends who became cymbal makers at a very young age, and they carefully trained in every process of cymbal making, acquiring the skills. Their teachers were the masters who made legendary cymbals in the 1960s and 1970s, and they learned traditional manufacturing methods. After working at the workshop for 16 years, the three men founded their own company, but they still maintain good relationships with their former employees and continue to make cymbals to this day, with respect for their mentors from whom they learned cymbal making. The three cymbal masters continue to work together in the workshop, helping their apprentices to create perfect cymbals with their nearly 30 years of experience. In today's society where machine manufacturing has become the norm, we hope you will enjoy our exquisite handcrafted products, which are still made using traditional methods and are of the highest quality and are made by skilled artisans. [Groove Series] Groove Series cymbals strive for a funky, earthy feel. The top of the cymbal is finished with a traditional razing process, giving it a warm sound, while the bottom is finished with a unique razing process that is characteristic of the New Orleans series. This process gives the cymbal a warm attack, but also a dark tone with reduced resonance, resulting in a sound that has been developed to make the New Orleans sound even more funk and powerful. It really does evoke the image of a funky groove being created. -Comments from the purchasing staff- Our purchasing staff remembered the shocking and unforgettable sound they experienced when they first encountered this series, with its sharp, funky yet refined sound, and they selected the models that appealed to them the most.
