The 8mm- thick American maple drums feature a precise bearing edge, bringing out their potential power and clarity, while an acrylic LQ (lacquer) finish creates a rigid profile. The tubular lug and 10-tension design refine the shell vibration rhythm, enhancing the tightness and sharpness of the sound. Canopus Red Lock is used to prevent the tension bolts from loosening. Furthermore, the Type-R uses a highly directional Japanese ASPR head, rather than the American-made REMO head, which emits a wide frequency response from top to bottom, thereby emphasizing the mid- and high-frequency ranges. This snare drum is specialized for rock sounds, offering power approaching that of a heavy, machined metal snare drum, yet surpassing it in ease and comfort.
