(Pulling up the tone knob bypasses the EQ.) Tone control is possible not only when the EQ is ON, but also when the EQ is bypassed. Furthermore, a mini-switch allows you to select from three different frequency bands for adjusting the midrange, which is crucial for the bass sound.
