We have a K Zildjian hi-hat from the so-called IAK period, believed to have been manufactured between the 1980s and mid-1990s! It features a particularly rare, brilliant finish! This cymbal is believed to have been manufactured between the 1980s, when K Zildjian's production base was moved from a Canadian factory to an American factory, and around 1993. Zildjian has always kept up with music trends, so after moving from the Canadian K factory, the company was in a transitional period where the specifications were undergoing detailed changes. In particular, the K Zildjian produced between 1988 and 1993 is commonly known as IAK (Intermediate American K). Compared to the current model, the razing and hammering are rougher and larger. It produces solid ticking and sticking, and when set to half-open, it produces clear high-frequency sound and rich bass. This model comes in a rare brilliant finish. The sound is gentler and mellower than with the regular finish, and it is a very well-balanced hi-hat that combines lustrous overtones and a calm tone. This highly versatile hi-hat can be used in a wide range of genres and songs.
