The Jazz Series is a series with shells designed specifically for jazz players. The shell is made from a combination of maple and gum, providing a balanced blend of thick midrange and responsive high-end sound. The hardware features include a 3mm "True Hoop" that maintains the open resonance of a pressed hoop while providing a sharp attack, a "MAG Throw Off" switch that uses magnets to lock the switch, and a "5P Butt Plate" that allows for one-touch adjustment of the snare tension in five stages. DW's unique ideas are also incorporated into the functionality, such as the "True Pitch 50" that allows for more precise tuning by using a finer mesh than the conventional True-Pitch tension rod.
