Full Range Snare Drums - The Swamp Dawg Mahogany T he snare drum is a special instrument that reflects the drummer's individuality. Using the know-how cultivated over many years of drum manufacturing, we offer a wide range of models that pursue Gretsch's unique sound. Named "Swamp Doug," this versatile snare drum is finished in a satin finish. The 14x8 mahogany shells, tuned low, produce a moist, dark, husky low-fidelity sound reminiscent of historic recordings from the 70s. In addition, when tuning from mid to high, it produces a deep sound with a sharp, wet attack. The 6-ply mahogany shell, 8 tubular lugs, and triple flange hoop work together to allow the drum to breathe openly. 42 snare wires and a 2-ply coated Remo® Emperor head give the drum more impact and playability.
