This is a drive pedal that takes the overdrive from the AC-Tone and puts it into a single unit. The AC-Tone, which was not originally a high-gain pedal, has been made into a single-unit pedal, making it a more versatile pedal. The Drive knob has a wide range of adjustment, covering everything from booster-like use to a crisp crunch. In addition, it uses a 9V DC power supply for convenience. (*However, since there is no battery box inside the enclosure, it will only operate with an AC adapter.) With its smaller size and easier power supply connection to other effects pedals, the AC-Tone has become even more accessible.
