At the time, maple was the most popular drum shell material and became a staple in American jazz drum sets. Piano manufacturing techniques were also applied to the drums, and instead of the veneer covering that was common at the time, a painted finish was used. All of our technical expertise has been poured into this historic model. By combining the hard shell material unique to birch with one-piece lugs, this model achieves a sharper, more solid sound, and has attracted the envy of top drummers around the world.
