Ten years after the huge success of his first collaboration with him, the signature snare drum, the new Benny Snare is here, even more powerful than ever. "This isn't just an update, it's an upgrade," declares Benny. Carrying on from its predecessor, the 13x5.75 inch beech wood shell features a Scandinavian birch veneer and bubinga inlay. It also features vintage teardrop lugs from the 1950s and a dual-glide snare strainer. And let's not forget the new MonoRail damper system, which features two dampers, Benny's favorites, The Felt and The Sheep, which are interchangeable, giving you even more sound options. This completely new approach resulted in the brass shell model. It's crafted from 1.2mm thick brass with a vintage brass finish and the same teardrop lugs as the wood shell. The sound is warm and rounded, with pleasant overtones that accentuate the rim shot edge. The exact dimensions of the wood shell of the previous model improve the bottom end and resonant sensitivity. The result is Benny's favorite metal shell snare drum, one of the best he's ever encountered.
