TAMA USED PBC146 [STARPHONIC / Bubinga 14'' x 6'' / Made In Japan]
Used Tama Starphonic Bubinga snare drum now in stock! -STAR PHONIC- This series incorporates many unique features, including TAMA's unique ``Grooved Hoop.'' His music transcends ti me and genre, and his soothing sound resonates with the hearts of all who hear it, earning him high praise around the world. -STARPHONIC Bubinga 14''x6''- Bubinga shells are known for their rich mid-low range, but by making the shells thinner than before, they add a softer sound. The shell's rich sound has been moderately shaped, resulting in a softer, warmer tone while retaining the distinctively thick low end of bubinga. In addition, the firmness created by the combination with Grooved Hoop gives it a distinctive character among STARPHONIC products. The outermost ply of the 9-ply 7-ply shell is made of Cordia wood as a decorative panel. It has beautiful wood grain and a luxurious look. ●Grooved Hoop The Grooved Hoop is a 1.6mm thick steel flange hoop developed exclusively for STARPHONIC snares. By eliminating the tension bolt holes, the Grooved Hoop achieves the open sound characteristic of flanged hoops, along with high rigidity and roundness. The top edge of the hoop also uses an inward-bent design, a technique often seen on vintage snare drums. Unlike standard triple flange hoops, the Grooved Hoop guides the attack of the sound more vertically and moderately cuts overtones, resulting in a more focused sound. (PHOTO1) ●Non-Loosening Rubber Gasket A new mechanism prevents the tension bolt from loosening during performance. A rubber stopper block is built into the claw hook, surrounding the tension bolt. When the tension bolt is tightened, the hook is pressed against the hoop, and the built-in rubber stopper is clamped between the hook and the hoop and contracts. This restoring force secures the tension bolt and prevents it from loosening. ●Freedom Lug & Claw Hook The newly designed lug and claw hooks tilt outward when the tension bolt is loosened, releasing the claw hooks from the hoop. This mechanism makes it easier and faster to change drum heads without having to completely remove the tension bolts from the lugs. (PHOTO2) ●Linear Drive Strainer Even when the lever is moved quickly, the snare itself moves at a slow, constant speed in response to the amount of movement, thanks to a linear structure. This minimizes the loud clicking noise that occurs when the snare hits the bottom head, even when the lever is quickly turned on and off during performance. (PHOTO3) ●Ratchet Style Snappy Tension Adjuster To prevent the snare tension from loosening during performance, the strainer's adjustment knob uses a ratchet-type adjustment mechanism with an internal gear. Since it won't loosen unless the tension exceeds a certain level, it boasts extremely high tension retention. Furthermore, the snare's vertical width can be adjusted in extremely fine increments of 0.125 mm per gear, allowing for even more precise tension adjustment. ●Detachable Butt Plate By tilting the snappy cord fixing plate by 30 degrees compared to previous models, the snappy itself can be more securely attached to the head without applying excessive force that could adversely affect the drum shell or strainer. (PHOTO4) ●Bearing Edge The bearing edge is one of the most important elements that influences the sound of a drum. As shown in the cross-section diagram on the left, STARPHONIC's snare drum has part A, which comes into contact with the drumhead, at its peak 2.5 mm from the outside of the shell. This increases the degree of contact between the drumhead and the edge, maximizing the sound of the drum itself without interfering with the sound of either the drum shell or the drumhead. ●Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon Snappy Snare To achieve a light, crisp sound, we completely reconsidered everything from the coil material and pitch to the shape of the coil plate, creating a completely new snare. By improving snare head compliance and achieving both exquisite grip and a crisp sound, we have achieved sensitivity and rich expressiveness that captures even the finest passages of the player's playing. ■SPEC Parts Finish: Chrome Lug: Tube Lug Type: Freedom Lug Hoop: Grooved Hoop Strainer: MLS50A Linear-Drive Bat: MLS50B Detachable type Snapper: MS20RL14C (Super Sensitive Hi-Carbon) Shell composition: Cordia (1ply) / Bubinga (8ply) Shell thickness: 7mm Diameter x Depth: 14" x 6" Shell Finish (Color Code): Matte Natural Cordia (MNC) *Please note that this is a used item and may have minor scratches, dirt, dents on the head, and other signs of use.
