Used Istanbul Mehmet Tony Williams Tribute Cymbal 22-inch Ride now in stock! Tony Williams Tribute Cymbal Tony Williams joined the Miles Davis Quintet at the tender age of 17, and his innovative playing style was praised as a genius drummer, surpassing previous concepts of jazz drumming, and his influence continues to be felt by drummers today. With the cooperation of his beloved wife, Colleen Williams, Tony borrowed a cymbal inherited from Max Roach, Tony's mentor and the great jazz drummer (who played some brilliant performances on numerous recordings with the Miles Davis Quintet in the 1960s). In creating the Tribute cymbal, Tony thoroughly researched and reproduced every detail of the design, taper, weight, and size in order to recreate the original sound. Ride This ride, with its clear attack and rich overtones that follow, responds very sensitively to the strength of the touch, fully reflecting the performer's expression. A light touch produces a transparent, delicate sound that naturally captures subtle nuances and dynamics. At the same time, even when played somewhat hard, the sound doesn't get lost, and it exudes a solid presence in the ensemble, powerfully supporting the music as a whole. The bell has a clear, well-defined sound that is present yet not piercing, creating an exquisite sound that makes the player feel as if they are one with the instrument.
