The 6120 Chet Atkins Hollowbody model debuted in 1954 as part of the Chet Atkins Signature Series. This beautiful guitar, with its orange finish, 2-3/4" thick and 16" wide single-c utaway body, has undergone several minor changes since, including a slimmer double-cutaway body, but it has remained a beloved guitar for guitarists worldwide and remains a signature Gretsch model. The guitar we have in stock this time was shipped around 1965 and is the same specification as before the model name was changed to "Chet Atkins Nashville." 【body】 The overall weight is approximately 3.4 kg. The body is made of maple with a hollow construction. The 2-inch thick, 16-inch wide double-cutaway body is a feature from late 1961 onwards. This guitar features a beautiful, deep orange colour. The body binding, which had deteriorated, has been repaired in our shop. There is some weather checking, some minor dents, and some tarnish on the metal parts, but it is in relatively good condition. The mute has been removed and is currently out of stock. 【neck】 The neck is made of maple. The fingerboard is made of ebony. There is some weather checking, especially on the headstock veneer, but like the body, it is in relatively good condition. The tuners are Waverly open-type, and although there is some variation in winding, they function well. The neck has been reset and the frets replaced at our shop, resulting in excellent playability. The nut width is 43.2mm. The neck shape is relatively solid. [Electrical system] The familiar Chet Atkins series controls (master volume, individual pickup volumes, standby switch, pickup selector switch, and tone switch) are all in their original condition, along with the internal parts. The pickups are two Filter 'Tron pickups, a specification from 1958 onward. The instrument has a fantastic resonance, and the combination of the old Filter 'Tron pickups and the excellent wood construction produces a clear, speedy sound.
