Carefully selected consigned items (items sold on your behalf) Since its introduction in 1958, the ES-335TD has reigned as a leading semi-acoustic guitar, not only for Gibson but for the entire guitar market. Its appeal lies in its user-friendly sound, suitable for a wide range of applications. The 12-string ES-335 debuted in 1965, and it is said that only about 2062 units were produced before production ended in 1971, which speaks to its rarity. The one we have in stock this time is a sunburst colored model shipped around 1968. 【body】 The total weight is approximately 4.0 kg. The body is made of maple. It features the familiar Gibson semi-acoustic construction with a center block and a width of about 16 inches. The faded brownish sunburst color is very appealing. There are signs that a Bigsby B-7 unit was once installed on the tailpiece, but it has now been reverted to a trapeze tailpiece. There is weather checking, scratches, and tarnishing of the metal parts commensurate with its age, giving it a good vintage feel and condition. The bridge has been replaced with a Japanese-made one of the same type as the original. 【neck】 The neck is made of one piece of mahogany. The fingerboard is made of rosewood. The double triangle inlay on the headstock is the pointed type seen from around 1968. The neck shows age-appropriate weather checking throughout, paint chipping around the headstock and on the back of the neck, and tarnishing on the metal parts, giving it a lovely vintage feel, just like the body. The tuners function properly, although there is some slight variation in the tightness of the winding. The frets and nut have been replaced, and the playability is good. The nut width is 40.3mm. The neck shape is relatively sturdy with a slight V-shape. [Electrical System] The controls are the standard 3-way pickup selector, 2 volume controls, and 2 tone controls. The pickups have been replaced with Gibson '57 Classic models. The other control parts are in their original condition. While a 12-string electric guitar may not often be used as a main instrument, its powerful sound when it matters has been proven in many famous songs. The tight response and sweet, thick tone of the humbucker, combined with the chorus-like harmonics unique to 12-string guitars, create a brilliant and deep sound. The clean sound evokes the delicate and expansive resonance of 1960s folk rock and psychedelic scenes, adding rich depth and presence.
