A 2014 NYC-made custom model featuring a top-quality quilted maple! Since its founding in 1979, Roger Sadowsky, a legendary guitar builder and repairman, has been responsible for t he instrument making, repair, and customization of countless top artists across genres, including Marcus Miller, Will Lee, Verdine White, Jim Hall, Keith Richards, Prince, Greg Lake, Tom Hamilton, Jason Newsted, and many others, earning the immense trust of musicians worldwide. Starting with the famous Marcus Miller's '77 JB, through modifying instruments for New York studio musicians and manufacturing instruments under his own brand, he established the "active JB" style, now adopted by many manufacturers, and proposed new possibilities for bass sound to the music scene from the 1980s onward. With a sound variety that can accommodate all musical genres, low noise, and ultimate functionality, Sadowsky instruments have always been with musicians, and continue to evolve even more than 40 years after its founding. This instrument is a gorgeous vintage-style 4-string custom model featuring a top made of exquisite quilted maple wood with a shimmering, three-dimensional grain that captivates the viewer, placed on a lightweight chambered ash body, and fitted with a maple fingerboard. By employing a unique chambered body structure, this instrument is lightweight and well-balanced, yet it deliberately maintains a solid resonance and sound rather than the hollow resonance of a hollow body, producing a rich, natural tone. This achieves Roger's ideal acoustic quality and results in the finest sound. There are minor scratches and dents, paint peeling and discoloration on the side of the fretboard near the 1st string, and some gloss on the paint on the back of the neck. There are slight dents on the lower frets, but the fret height is still good and it is currently playable without any problems. The jack has been replaced with a Switchcraft. The truss rod has plenty of adjustment range, and the neck condition is good with no major issues. Weight ≈ 3.94 kg Accessories: Genuine Portabag, spec sheet Show more
