The popular ukulele bass, KALA U-BASS. KALA is an American ukulele manufacturer founded in Petaluma, California in 2005. They offer high-quality ukuleles at reasonable prices, with a lineup of nearly 150 models including travel models, ukulele basses, and a wide variety of woods. They boast the No. 1 ukulele sales share in the continental United States and enjoy immense popularity in Hawaii, the birthplace of the ukulele. The U-BASS, first introduced in 2008, is a popular model that uses specially designed strings that are thicker and more elastic than regular bass strings made of a rubber-like material. The Scout U-BASS is a more decorative version of the Nomad, positioned a step above the other affordable models in the U-BASS series. Featuring cream binding and a Venetian cutaway, it's recommended for bassists who want to play in higher positions. It also boasts the excellent picking response and well-defined sound characteristic of mahogany, resulting in a U-BASS with rich volume. There are some minor scratches and light dents, but it is in good working order and can be used without any problems. The truss rod has plenty of adjustment range, and the neck is in good condition.
