Adrian Belew's secret weapon is finally getting a limited reissue. For many years, Electro-Harmonix pedals have been used by pedal-loving players and true musical innovators. Adria n Belew, who meticulously refines and explores sound, embodies both of these aspects. And Electro-Harmonix has been a part of that signal chain since the early stages of his career. Having built his career through working with Frank Zappa and David Bowie, and collaborating with artists such as Talking Heads and Tom Tom Club, Adrian encountered the unique sound-making capabilities of the EHX Echoflanger. Echoflanger is a time/pitch modulation effect that utilizes a BBD (Bucket Brigade Device), allowing you to create not only rich chorus and flanger effects, but also original sounds with distortion, undulation, and wavering that far surpassed the limitations of typical effects at the time. With the Echoflanger in hand, Adrian creates his signature sounds, such as the steel drum-like guitar sound in Tom Tom Club's "Genius of Love," the elephant trumpet in King Crimson's "Elephant Talk," and the rhinoceros-like sound in his solo track "The Lone Rhinoceros." Echoflanger was later developed under other names such as Polyflange and Polychorus, but the original Echoflanger remained central to Adrian's equipment for many years. The Adrian Belew Echoflanger Reissue is a limited-edition reissue that inherits all the charm, undulation, fluctuation, and extreme sound of the original, while adding a modern design and several new ideas. These include hidden settings that Adrian himself discovered some time ago. Combining smooth, beautiful modulation with chaotic, radical sounds, this multi-mode modulator can create not only classic chorus and flanger effects, but also unique, twisted sounds that go beyond their limits. The original four modes were Filter Matrix, Flange, Chorus, and Slap Back. Two new combination modes have been added: Slap Back + Filter Matrix and Adrian's signature Flanger + Chorus, bringing the total to six modes. ■6 MODES [In addition to the original 4 modes, two new combination modes have been added] ① FILTER MATRIX A fixed comb filter with the LFO (low-frequency oscillator) stopped. It produces metallic chime sounds and manual flanging. ②FLANGE It covers everything from classic flangers to large, undulating modulations. ③ CHORUS + FLANGE [NEW] This recreates Adrian Belew's unique "intermediate setting between FLANGE and CHORUS."
