✨ Experience the unique magic of the VooDooStone™ — the trademarked color-changing gem found only at David's Antiques & Jewelry in New Orleans. Two oval VooDooStones hang one below the other in each earring: a smaller oval set as the stud at the earlobe, and a larger oval swinging freely beneath it. The VooDooStone sees light differently than the human eye and shifts instantly between three colors: a purplish-pink in daylight, a golden amber under warm incandescent light, and a vivid peridot green under fluorescent light. The top oval VooDooStone sits north-south in a four-prong setting with rounded ball tips, mounted directly on a .925 sterling silver post. A small hinged loop drops from the base of that setting and carries the second, noticeably larger oval VooDooStone in its own four ball-tipped prongs, so the lower stone swings with every turn of the head. Both stones are open-backed, which lets light pass straight through and makes the color change read clearly from across a room. Sterling silver posts with butterfly backs. A true statement pair — the two stones change together, so the whole earring turns purplish-pink, golden amber or peridot green as you move between daylight, lamplight and fluorescent light. VooDooStone™ is a trademarked gem, exclusive to David's Antiques & Jewelry in the French Quarter. Do both stones change color at the same time?Yes. Both ovals are VooDooStones, so the top and bottom stone shift together as the light changes. Does the bottom stone move?Yes — it hangs from a small hinged loop, so it swings freely under the stud. That movement is what catches the light and shows off the color change. How do I care for this piece?Wipe the .925 sterling silver with a soft polishing cloth and avoid harsh chemicals, chlorine and perfume. Store it in a dry pouch to slow tarnish.
