Ayre fish (stinging catfish) is a highly prized variety in Bengali cuisine, known for its rich, oily flesh and bold flavour. It is one of those fish that Bengali cooks specifically seek out for recipes where a strong fish flavour is essential. Our ayre fish arrives cleaned and ready to cook, weighing approximately 1 to 1.5 kg per fish. The flesh is dark, rich, and full of the natural oils that make Bengali fish curries so distinctive. For catfish delivery in Sydney, Hills Harvest is the trusted source that stocks authentic deshi fish varieties.
