Biology 101 Biology 101 approaches biology through a clear Biblical worldview while helping students build a broad understanding of living systems, genetics, classification, and the complexity of life. Typically counted as one full high school credit, this video-based course combines visual instruction with guided review and optional hands-on learning. Created by filmmaker, homeschool dad, and Bible college graduate Wes Olson, the course introduces major biology topics through video lessons designed to make complex concepts easier to understand and remember. Students explore classification, plants, aquatic and avian creatures, land animals, human biology, cells, genetics, and the study of life through the framework of the days of creation. The course includes more than 4.5 hours of video instruction across nine lessons, a printable 136-page guidebook with quizzes, discussion questions, accreditation materials, suggested scheduling support, and twenty optional labs for students who want additional hands-on learning. Because the course relies heavily on visual explanations, animations, graphics, and discussion-based learning, it often works particularly well for students who struggle with textbook-heavy science courses or benefit from seeing concepts demonstrated. Biology 101 works well as a stand-alone biology credit or as a foundation before moving into more advanced science courses.
