Buy Apache Thornless Blackberry plants for sale at Advanced Nursery Growers in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Apache is an upright, thornless blackberry that produces large, glossy black fruit. Its thornless canes make the berries easier to pick, and its later harvest can help extend blackberry season. www.advancednurserygrowers.com Plant Details: Plant Type: Perennial fruiting bramble Botanical Name: Rubus ‘Apache’ Mature Size: Approximately 5–8 feet tall and 3–5 feet wide Sun: Full sun USDA Zones: Approximately 5–9 Chill Hours: Approximately 800–900 hours Bloom/Harvest: Spring flowers followed by a later-season blackberry harvest; timing varies by location Fruit: Large, firm, glossy black berries with good flavor Thorns: Thornless Fruiting Habit: Floricane-fruiting; berries grow on second-year canes Pollination: Self-fertile Soil/Water: Fertile, well-drained soil; keep evenly moist during flowering and fruit development Landscape Uses: Berry rows, home orchards, edible gardens, and fruiting hedges Pollinator Partners: Apache does not need another blackberry variety to produce fruit. Winters around DeFuniak Springs may not always provide that much chill, so fruit production could be inconsistent. After harvest, remove canes that have fruited and retain healthy new canes for the following year’s crop. www.uaex.uada.edu Local Pickup & Limited ShippingLocal pickup is available at our nursery in DeFuniak Springs, Florida.Limited shipping may be available for select smaller trees in 3-gallon containers or smaller.
