Some rooms do not need a skirt. They need the base to look finished. This cover stretches over the sides of the box spring, up to 17 inches deep, and stays smooth, with no ruffle a nd no fabric hanging to the floor. You do not lift the mattress to put it on. If you want a drop that hides what is under the bed, a bed skirt is the other choice. Show more
