Britney Spears, New Orleans LA, 1999. Shooting Britney this early on in her career was like capturing lightning in a bottle. It was right after the release of her first music video , Baby One More Time, and she was just 16. It was a pivotal point - her journey from Louisiana innocence to MTV sex symbol, and it all shows through so clearly in these photos. Even in the most innocent set ups, like laying in a flower field in her parents backyard, there was this mix of youthfulness and seduction - each photo revealing the captivating contrast of her persona as she navigated being a teen and catapulting into this provocative icon.
