Clonex Rooting Gel is one of the most trusted propagation products in the grow industry, helping growers achieve faster rooting, stronger early development, and better strike rates from freshly taken cuttings since 1988. This easy-to-use gel is packed with rooting hormone, anti-fungal support, nutrients and trace elements, all designed to give cuttings the best possible start. Once applied, the gel coats the cut end of the stem, helping protect delicate plant tissue while supporting explosive root initiation exactly where it is needed most. For growers looking to improve propagation consistency and reduce failed clones, Clonex Rooting Gel is a proven essential. It works brilliantly as part of a wider cloning routine alongside products like Clonex Pro Start and Clonex Mist for a more complete propagation setup. .hb-qff .hb-qff-row { display: grid; grid-template-columns: 140px 1fr; gap: 14px; align-items: baseline; margin: 0 0 10px; } .hb-qff .hb-qff-row:last-child { margin-bottom: 0; } .hb-qff dt, .hb-qff dd { margin: 0; } @media (max-width: 480px) { .hb-qff .hb-qff-row { grid-template-columns: 1fr; gap: 3px; } } Quick Feed Facts THE HYDRO BROS Dilution / Dose Apply undiluted, straight from the bottle. Dip the bottom 10–20mm of each fresh cutting into the gel before inserting into your propagation media. When To Use Immediately after taking cuttings — a one-time dip at the propagation stage, not a recurring feed. Substrate Fit Works with any propagation media — rockwool cubes, rooting plugs, coco, and soil-based mixes. Grower Notes Pour a small amount into a separate dish rather than dipping straight into the bottle, to keep the rest of the batch contamination-free. Pair with Clonex Mist to keep humidity high while roots form, and Clonex Pro Start once young roots need their first feed. Why growers choose Clonex Rooting Gel Contains rooting hormone to stimulate rapid root development Helps seal the cut stem after taking cuttings Includes anti-fungal protection to help reduce stem rot risk Contains nutrients and trace elements to support the rooting phase Gel consistency clings to the stem better than many powders or thin liquids Simple to use with plugs, cubes and other propagation media Food grade certified formulation How Clonex Rooting Gel works Freshly cut stems are at their most vulnerable during propagation. Clonex Rooting Gel helps by coating the cut end with a carefully balanced formula that supports the earliest stage of root development. The rooting hormone encourages root-shoot formation, while the anti-fungal element helps protect against rot during this delicate window. Added nutrients and trace elements then help feed the rooting process as the cutting starts to establish. Because it is a gel, it stays in direct contact with the cutting much more effectively than many alternatives, giving better coverage and more reliable application. How to use Clonex Rooting Gel Take a healthy cutting from an actively growing plant using clean, sterile tools. Pour a small amount of Clonex Rooting Gel into a separate sterile dish. Do not dip cuttings directly into the bottle. Make a fresh angled cut just below a node. Dip the bottom 10 to 20mm of the cutting into the gel so the cut end is fully coated. Place the cutting into your chosen propagation media, such as a rooting plug or propagation cube. Keep the cuttings in a warm, humid propagation environment until roots develop. Dilution rate No dilution required. Clonex Rooting Gel is used straight from the bottle. Simply pour out a small amount and dip each cutting before inserting it into your propagation media. When to use Use Clonex Rooting Gel immediately after taking cuttings, during the propagation stage only. It is a one-step propagation product rather than a weekly feed. For an even more complete cloning routine, many growers pair it with Clonex Mist for foliar support and Clonex Pro Start once young plants begin establishing. Usage guide Application Rate When to Use Notes Fresh cuttings / clones Use neat Immediately after taking each cutting Dip the bottom 10 to 20mm of stem into the gel Propagation stage No dilution Single application per cutting Insert into plug, cube or media after dipping Works well as part of a complete Clonex propagation routine Clonex Rooting Gel is ideal as the first hands-on step when taking cuttings. To build out a more complete propagation process, you can also use Clonex Mist to support cuttings in the early stage, then move on to Clonex Pro Start once roots are beginning to form and young plants are ready for extra support. Best for Taking cuttings from healthy mother plants Improving propagation success rates Supporting fast, healthy root initiation Reducing failed clones and stem losses Growers using plugs, cubes, trays and propagators Top tips Always use clean scissors or a sterile scalpel when taking cuttings Never dip cuttings directly into the original bottle Use with quality propagation plugs or cubes for best results Keep humidity high while roots are developing Do not let young cuttings dry out during the rooting phase Summary Clonex Rooting Gel is a trusted propagation favourite for a reason. It is simple, reliable, and highly effective, helping growers achieve cleaner takes, faster root development, and stronger early plant establishment. Whether you are cloning a few plants or running a full propagation setup, Clonex gives your cuttings a proper head start. We got you.
