Armed with knowledge – and an aethershot pistol at his belt – the Codewright 's efforts are supported by the hefty ledgerdomain carried on his shoulders, a many-armed mechanical apparatus that incorporates a full bookshelf of hefty duardin texts, as well a loudspeaker with which to cite his judgements. He can also use its piston-powered limbs to smack impertinent enemies with a hefty book, if need be – all while writing new footnotes on the fly.
