Originally, feudal service required sergeants to tend to their lands, but as the empire grew, it became evident that a professional, mobile military was needed. The Men-at-Arms arose from this need, as soldiers who fight for coin rather than land, becoming an essential part of any army in the Hundred Kingdoms. Their experience, honed through constant warfare, makes them reliable and battle-tested. How They Play: Reliable Main Battle Line: The Men-at-Arms serve as the sturdy foundation of your army, forming the main battle line. They are versatile and can hold the enemy at bay while your more mobile or hard-hitting forces flank and outmaneuver your opponent. Their training, whether from ragtag mercenary groups or the well-drilled forces of noble houses, makes them an essential and dependable unit. Professional Soldiers: Freed from the need to protect lands or tend fields, Men-at-Arms are able to focus entirely on military pursuits, making them reliable and well-prepared for extended campaigns. Their focus on martial skills allows them to thrive in sustained combat, taking on the responsibility of holding the line for your more specialized forces. Backbone of the Hundred Kingdoms Army: Whether formed from household forces or mercenary companies, Men-at-Arms have been through enough conflict to weed out the incompetent and duplicitous. This makes them the spine of any army, providing the consistency and reliability needed to execute strategic plans. Versatility and Flexibility: Men-at-Arms excel at performing a wide range of battlefield roles. Whether used to hold objectives, engage enemy infantry, or act as a steady defensive line, they can be adapted to your needs in battle. Command Card for Strategic Support: The 1 Command Card included with the pack allows you to enhance the performance of your Men-at-Arms on the battlefield. The card helps with maneuvering, morale boosts, or increasing their combat effectiveness, depending on your strategy. In Summary: The Men-at-Arms are an indispensable part of any Hundred Kingdoms army. They are reliable, well-trained, and versatile, able to serve as the foundation of your force. Whether you need them to hold the line or provide essential support for more mobile or aggressive units, Men-at-Arms are up to the task.
