By late 1944, chronic rubber shortages forced German industry to fit the Panther Ausf. G with all-steel, rubber-saving road wheels featuring a distinctive internal cushioning ring rather than a rubber tyre. This kit depicts one of those very late production Panthers, built in the final months of the war. This boxing also includes the "Sperber" FG 1250 infrared night-vision equipment fitted to a small number of Panthers for night-fighting trials, giving the commander an active infrared sight to engage Allied armour after dark - an experimental capability rushed into limited service as the Reich's military situation collapsed in early 1945. Dragon renders both the distinctive tread pattern of the steel wheels and the IR sight housing on the turret in crisp 1/72 scale detail, letting modellers build one of the rarer and more technologically unusual Panther sub-variants alongside a standard example. A great choice for collectors wanting a lesser-seen late-war Panther G variant, with decals for authentic German markings included. Show more
