Fragment 017 balances softness and depth. A pale periwinkle blue, clouded with pink, lilac and mint, meets a rich, velvety magenta that darkens into violet and ultramarine, while a thin line of white light runs between them. The contrast feels like the moment between day and evening, gentle and intense at once. Worked with a palette knife over a dark ground, which shows through at the edges, it adds a touch of depth to a bedroom, a dressing area or a cluster of Fragments.
