What's in the Fifth-Grade Kit Fifth grade pulls together everything your student has built so far — and starts laying the groundwork for middle school. Math tackles fractions, and writing gets more serious with structured composition. Classic kits turn to American history this year; nonreligious kits go deep in geography. Science focuses on reasoning and true understanding across all five disciplines. Thinking skills build on everything done so far, with more complex logic and reasoning challenges. STEM this year includes stop-motion animation — which doubles as a creative outlet and a patience-building exercise. Save Money Teaching Multiple Children Our Additional Student Kit includes only the consumable items for this grade level, saving you money when you are homeschooling more than one Fifth-Grade student this year. Purchase one curriculum kit, then buy only this money-saving Additional Student Kit for the second student.
