GAN Halo Timer – Premium Bluetooth Smart Timer for Speedcubing The GAN Halo Timer is GAN's premium smart speedcubing timer, combining accurate physical timing with Bluetooth connec tivity, automatic solve recording and integration with GAN's CubeStation platform. It can be used just like a normal speedcubing timer, but connect it to CubeStation and your results can be automatically recorded and analysed without manually entering every solve. This makes it particularly useful for high-volume practice sessions and for cubers already using GAN smartcubes. The Halo also stands out visually, with GAN's customisable Halo Light System providing dozens of different lighting effects. 📱 Connect to GAN CubeStation The biggest advantage of the GAN Halo Timer over a conventional speedcubing timer is its integration with the GAN CubeStation app. Connect the timer to your phone via Bluetooth and your solve times can be recorded digitally, allowing you to keep track of your practice without manually typing every result into an app. CubeStation provides a much broader training platform as well, with statistics and analysis, training tools, tutorials, online battles and integration with GAN's range of Bluetooth smartcubes. Download CubeStation: CubeStation for Android – Google Play CubeStation NEW for iPhone & iPad – App Store If you already practise with a GAN smartcube, the Halo Timer is particularly useful because your timer and smartcube can form part of the same GAN training ecosystem. 💾 Record Thousands of Solves You don't need to keep your phone connected every time you practise. The smart version of the GAN Halo Timer can store more than 10,000 timing results offline, which can then be uploaded to CubeStation. This means you can practise normally with the timer and synchronise your results later rather than needing your phone beside you throughout every session. The timer can also automatically calculate your average of 5 (Ao5), giving you useful practice statistics directly from the timer. 🌈 Customisable Halo Light System One of the most distinctive features of the GAN Halo Timer is the lighting around the timer itself. The Halo Light System offers up to 90 lighting effects, allowing the appearance of the timer to be customised through the app. It doesn't make your solves any faster, of course, but it gives the Halo a much more premium and distinctive appearance than a conventional speedcubing timer. ⏱️ Designed for Speedcubing Practice Despite all of its smart features, the GAN Halo still works as a standalone physical speedcubing timer. Place both hands on the sensors, wait until the timer is ready and lift your hands to begin your solve. Place both hands back on the sensors to stop the timer. This means you don't have to use CubeStation every time you solve. You can use the Halo as an ordinary timer when you want a simple practice session and connect it to your phone when you want automatic recording and more detailed analysis. 🔋 Rechargeable Battery Unlike many conventional speedcubing timers that rely on replaceable AAA batteries, the GAN Halo uses a rechargeable lithium battery. This is particularly convenient for regular practice, as the timer can simply be recharged rather than requiring replacement batteries. 📺 External Display Support The GAN Halo Timer also supports connection to a compatible external display, making it useful for cubing clubs, races and demonstrations where you want the solve time to be visible on a larger screen. 📏 Key Features Bluetooth: Yes App: GAN CubeStation Offline Storage: More than 10,000 timing results Statistics: Automatic Ao5 calculation Lighting: Customisable Halo Light System with up to 90 effects Battery: Rechargeable lithium battery Standalone Timing: Yes External Display Support: Yes 🎯 Who Is the GAN Halo Timer For? Cubers who want their solve times recorded automatically GAN smartcube users who already use CubeStation Cubers who want detailed statistics and training features Anyone completing large numbers of solves who doesn't want to enter every result manually Cubers looking for a premium alternative to a basic timer If you only want a timer to display your solve time, the QiYi Timer provides the essential functionality for considerably less. However, if you want automatic solve recording and integration with GAN's smartcubing ecosystem, the GAN Halo Timer offers considerably more functionality. Frequently Asked Questions Does the GAN Halo Timer connect to a phone? Yes. The GAN Halo Timer uses Bluetooth to connect to GAN's CubeStation platform, allowing your results to be recorded and analysed digitally. You can download CubeStation for Android from Google Play or CubeStation NEW for iPhone and iPad from the App Store. Can I use the GAN Halo Timer without the app? Yes. You can use the Halo as a normal standalone speedcubing timer without connecting it to a smartphone. The timer can also store more than 10,000 results offline, allowing you to synchronise your practice data with CubeStation later. Does the GAN Halo work with GAN smartcubes? Yes. One of the biggest reasons to choose the GAN Halo is its integration with the wider GAN CubeStation ecosystem. CubeStation supports GAN smartcubes as well as the Halo Timer, making the timer particularly suitable for cubers who already use GAN smart products. Does the GAN Halo calculate averages? Yes. The timer can automatically calculate an average of 5 (Ao5), allowing you to view more than just individual solve times during practice. Does the GAN Halo need batteries? The GAN Halo uses a rechargeable lithium battery, so you don't need to continually replace disposable AAA batteries. Is the GAN Halo Timer allowed at WCA competitions? The GAN Halo is designed for personal practice rather than use as the official timing equipment at WCA competitions. If your main priority is practising with the same timer used for official WCA attempts, consider the Speed Stacks G5. From 2 January 2027, the WCA will require the G5 in 4-pad mode for official attempts using a speedsolving timer. Speedcubing Timer Comparison Not sure which timer is right for you?
