Honest is Future’s second studio album, released on April 22, 2014 via A1 Recordings, Freebandz, and Epic Records. The project runs 16 tracks on the standard edition and 18 on the deluxe, clocking in at just over an hour, and it sits at a crossroads between trap rap and melodic, Auto‑Tuned R&B. Its tracklist includes “Look Ahead,” “Move That Dope” (with Pharrell, Pusha T, and Casino), “My Momma” (with Wiz Khalifa), the title track “Honest,” “I Won” (with Kanye West), “Never Satisfied” (with Drake), “I Be U,” “Covered N Money,” “Benz Friendz (Whatchutola)” (with André 3000), and “Blood, Sweat, Tears,” among others. On Honest, Future leans heavily into Auto‑Tune and large, dramatic production, with executive producer Mike WiLL Made‑It and others (like Metro Boomin, Sonny Digital, and Boi‑1da) supplying big, booming beats that blur the line between club‑ready trap and glossy pop‑rap. Lyrically, he focuses on wealth, drugs, sex, and success, but also folds in flashes of romantic devotion and vulnerability, especially on songs such as “I Won” and “Never Satisfied,” where he addresses relationships and the tension between ambition and intimacy. The album also emphasizes star power: Future shares space with some of the era’s biggest names, yet still foregrounds his own raspy, melodic delivery and hook‑writing, using Honest as a platform to expand his sound beyond the more straightforward street‑rap of his debut Pluto.
