Klaire Labs Interfase Plus Biofilm is one of the more frustrating obstacles in gut healing. When unwanted bacteria or yeast establish themselves in the GI tract, they often do so b y building a protective matrix around themselves — a biofilm — that makes them significantly harder to address with antimicrobials, probiotics, or even a well-designed gut protocol. Interfase Plus was formulated specifically to work on that matrix. The formula combines a broad-spectrum enzyme blend with EDTA, a chelating compound that binds the minerals — calcium, magnesium, and iron — that microorganisms rely on to construct and maintain their biofilm scaffolding. Without those minerals available, biofilm integrity breaks down. The enzymes work alongside EDTA to target the structural components of the matrix itself, including the polysaccharide and protein layers that make biofilm so resilient. The enzyme profile is comprehensive: polysaccharide-targeting enzymes (glucoamylase, cellulase, hemicellulase, beta-glucanase, chitosanase) work on the carbohydrate framework of biofilm protease and peptidase complex addresses the protein components. Serratia peptidase, delivered in an enteric-coated form to ensure it reaches the intestines intact, adds additional proteolytic activity. Lysozyme rounds out the formula with targeted support against bacterial cell walls. Importantly, this product is not a probiotic displacer — it is designed to disrupt pathogenic and dysfunctional biofilm while supporting the conditions for healthy microbial communities to take hold. It works best as part of a broader gut protocol that includes a quality probiotic and, when appropriate, antimicrobial support. Best taken away from meals to allow the enzymes to work on the biofilm rather than on food. Contains egg (lysozyme). Not recommended during pregnancy, nursing, or for those with kidney or liver conditions. Use under practitioner guidance. These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration.
