VCSEL IR Illuminator The M6TR uses a VCSEL infrared illuminator with adjustable beam divergence from approximately 40–150 mrad. The adjustable illuminator allows the user to change the size of the IR illumination pattern based on distance and environment. The beam can be tightened when more concentrated illumination is needed or opened up to illuminate a wider field of view under night vision. In full-power high mode, the VCSEL illuminator provides 10 mW of IR output. Class 3A operation reduces maximum illuminator output to 5 mW. Co-Aligned Laser System The visible laser, IR aiming laser, and IR illuminator are designed around a common alignment system. This simplifies adjustment and provides a consistent relationship between the visible and infrared aiming systems. Windage and elevation adjustments are made directly from the housing using the integrated adjustment controls. Controls & Activation The LS-M6TR uses a rotary mode selector along with a top-mounted fire button. The included remote pressure switch provides the same activation functions as the onboard fire button. Pressing and holding provides momentary activation, while a double-tap activates constant-on mode. Constant-on operation automatically shuts off after approximately five minutes and can also be cancelled with a single press. A dedicated override button bypasses the current selector position for rapid access to the appropriate visible or infrared combination. The M6TR also provides selectable Class 3A and Class 3B/full-power operation, allowing output to be reduced when maximum laser or illuminator power is not required. 6061-T6 Aluminum Construction The LS-M6TR housing is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy for a balance of strength, durability, and weight. An integrated Picatinny mounting system allows the module to mount directly to a compatible rail without requiring a separate mounting interface. The complete unit weighs approximately 213 g / 7.51 oz. The housing is rated IP68 waterproof and designed to operate in temperatures ranging from approximately -20°C to +50°C (-4°F to +122°F). Power The M6TR operates from a single CR123A or rechargeable 16340 battery, providing a common and easily replaceable power source. A low-battery indicator provides a visual warning when battery voltage drops and replacement or recharging is required.
