Why We’re Sew Into 'Mathayus': Its textural bounty, where plush pile and minuscule plaids intertwine Its muted palette that hides a subtle spark, with its warm embrace of earthy greens and a light kiss of red Its velvet naps upon which colors deepen and lustre strikes an opulent note HomeSewn Wisdom: Incorporate vintage accents with modern overtones: Use Mathayus velvet drapes to introduce the cozy charm of plaids without leaning too traditional. Their minuscule check print, designed with subtle contrast and hazy contours, looks more like a texture fest than a refined pattern, perfect for interiors that prefer a quiet contemporary aesthetic. Dress in pinched headers: Style these velvet drapes in the pinch pleat heading style, whose tailored pleats and architectural contours render the same opulent flair as the fabric itself. Their deep, sculptural pleats not only make a statement of extravagance but also spotlight velvet's gentle sheen and rich depth. Consider roman shades: If you’re dressing a small window or a compact room, try roman shades in Mathayus as a sleek and stylish alternative to curtains. They will offer you the same designer appeal as drapes without commanding any more space than the window itself. Order swatches: Screens may lie; swatches don’t. For the most accurate representation of color, pattern and texture, order a sample of the Mathayus fabric before placing your window treatments order. This will allow you to experience the fabric in your own lighting and setting, so you can commit to it with confidence. Coordinate with accessories: For a cohesive bespoke look, coordinate your curtains with other textile accessories in the room. Order matching cushions, bed runners, table covers, etc. from us or buy Mathayus fabric by the yard to create something uniquely yours. The Nitty-Gritty (Made Pretty): Prices are per panel, not per pair because sometimes all you need is a solo act on a narrow attic window. No forcing you to spend on two where one will do. Hardware is not included with our drapes, so please be prepared with poles, rings and other pretty little things. Each drapery panel at Sewn is handcrafted by skilled artisans from India who pour care, precision and decades of experience into every stitch.
