Gutsi MoodBiotic™ is a ground-breaking approach to the management of stress by providing key nutrients that harnesses the power of the gut-brain axis. MoodBiotic™ has been specifically designed to support the body’s resilient response to day-to-day, periodic stressors, energy deficits and mood balance. It does this by supporting balance for the two-way connection between the brain and the gut for t truly holistic mental and physical wellbeing. Pairing the robustly researched probiotic Bifidobacterium longum 1714™ (B. longum 1714™) with calming neural compounds L-theanine and Passionflower herbal extracts, this novel approach to stress management provides support for occasional feelings of stress and overwhelm. The gut-brain axis refers to the two-way communication network that exists between the nervous systems of the brain and the gut (the central and enteric nervous systems), and the vital role the gut’s microbial population – the microbiome – plays in this ‘always-on’ information exchange. Psychobiotics are beneficial bacteria that support the bacteria-brain relationship. This special microbial population or mindbiotics, influences thoughts, feelings and behaviours, and is one of the most important factors in the gut-brain axis. Research demonstrates the critical role the mind microbiome plays in supporting mental health and focus, digestion and mood, and the need for species diversity for supporting the health and vigour of the gut-brain axis. Mindbiotics are commensal probiotic bacteria that support healthy brain function through their support of the gut-brain axis, and for proper functioning of the communication pathway. Scientific research has shown these probiotics support feelings of calm, relaxation and balance during times of stress, low energy, sleep challenges and mild mood imbalance. Stress impacts the integrity of the mindbiome, reducing species diversity and altering its composition, which has a correspondingly negative impact on the mental and emotional experience of stress. Gutsi®’s solution to supporting the gut-brain connected microbiome against stress uses cutting-edge probiotic technology. 1714™, a unique strain of Bifidobacterium longum, is a mindbiotic that may help support the management of occasional stress and its biochemical expression within the human body. This strain works with the HPA axis to support healthy cortisol levels. 1714™ may support mental health, brain processes, neurotransmitters, and overall feelings of well-being. In a 4-week human trial, 1714™ supported the reduction in perceived stress and mental performance. It supported the ability to combat mental fatigue, supported brainwave activity, and the subjects’ ability to handle occasional stress. To support Bifidobacterium longum 1714™, MoodBiotic™ also provides the herbal and amino acid benefits of L-Theanine and Passionflower, L-theanine (Camellia sinensis) A unique amino acid found naturally in green tea, L-theanine works rapidly to support a healthy stress response by supporting neurotransmitter activity in the brain associated with calmness, focus, motivation and mood. It also supports normal alpha brain wave activity for a calm, focused and attentive state of mind. Passionflower extract (Passiflora incarnata) Passionflower is a traditional nervous system tonic known to help quiet the mind and support feelings of calm. It supports the maintenance of healthy levels of the calming neurotransmitter gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in the brain for calming feelings of tension and mental unease during periods of stress and gently support relaxation for restorative sleep.
