Okra is also excellent in Sambar, Gumbo-style curries, and stuffed Bharwa Bhindi with a spiced filling of besan and amchur. To minimise sliminess, always dry okra thoroughly before cutting and cook on high heat without covering the pan.Storage TipsStore unwashed okra in a perforated plastic bag in the refrigerator. Use within 3–4 days for best texture and flavour. Do not wash until ready to cook, as moisture accelerates sliminess.Frequently Asked QuestionsQ: How do I stop okra from becoming slimy?A: Dry the pods completely before cutting, cook on high heat, and avoid covering the pan. It supports digestion, immune health, and blood sugar regulation.Q: Can I freeze okra?A: Yes — blanch for 2–3 minutes, cool, pat dry, and freeze in portions.
