Hybrid ceramic-steel combination for optimal sharpness and longer edge lifespan (HRC 64) High-quality steel core with a unique titanium coating for maximum durability Lightweight, ergonomic, non-slip fiberglass handle with perfect balance Dishwasher safe! INNOVATIVE HYBRID TECHNOLOGY ONYX COOKWARE™ knives are nothing less than a revolution in your kitchen. They provide the extreme sharpness that we all want in our kitchen knives, combined with maximum durability and longevity throughout every part of the knife – from the edge and blade to the handle. We combine several different, unique materials and manufacturing processes to offer you the best kitchen knives (and we genuinely mean this) ever made! THE EDGE – SHARPNESS THAT LASTS LONGER The edge of an ONYX COOKWARE™ knife uses our patented hybrid combination of ceramic and steel to give you the best of both materials – without the drawbacks: the extreme, long-lasting sharpness of a ceramic knife combined with the quality, lifespan, and durability of a steel knife. During the forging process, we use a 5 mm thick plate consisting of our ceramic-steel combination and plasma, which is welded into the steel blade before being shaped into an edge with an incredible hardness of 64 HRC on the Rockwell scale. This means our knives stay sharp longer than any other steel knives on the market. We then perform precision grinding on the edge of every knife we produce. The unique composition of our patented hybrid ceramic-steel material enables us to use more aggressive sharpening methods than are normally possible in the production of a standard steel knife. The result is the sharpest edge you will ever experience—and continue using—without dullness! THE BLADE – BEAUTIFUL TITANIUM PROTECTION The blade of an ONYX COOKWARE™ knife is made from a high-quality steel core. This is then reinforced with a titanium layer through a process involving vapor treatment of the titanium before it is applied to the blade one atom at a time. During this process, the titanium and steel fuse together into a new, solid substance. Traditional coatings will normally wear out or dissolve over time. This does not happen with our layer, as it is bonded to the steel at the atomic level. The blade of an ONYX COOKWARE™ knife is made from a core of high-quality German steel. This is then reinforced with a titanium layer through a process involving vapor treatment of the titanium before it is applied to the blade one atom at a time. During this process, the titanium and steel fuse together into a new, solid substance. This is why we use the term layer rather than coating. Coatings can wear off or fade over time. This does not happen with our layer, as it is bonded to the steel at the atomic level. THE HANDLE – FIBERGLASS PERFECTION It may not be the first thing you look for when shopping for a new knife, but the handle is actually extremely important! It is the decisive factor for the knife’s balance and also determines how ergonomic it is to use. Let's be honest: there is no point in having an incredibly sharp knife if it is a nightmare to handle. ONYX COOKWARE™ knives feature high-quality fiberglass handles that not only provide perfect balance and weight distribution but also a water- and dirt-repellent surface, making them safer to handle in the kitchen. And if you ask us, they look incredibly stylish too! CLEAVER The Chinese cleaver is a useful tool for slicing, dicing, and chopping both meat and vegetables. In Chinese culture, a single knife is traditionally used for all kitchen tasks, which is why the cleaver is also referred to as the Chinese chef’s knife. A good cleaver can perform nearly all the tasks that would otherwise require an entire set of different knives, from precise slicing and dicing to splitting a whole chicken or cutting large vegetables. The large rectangular blade combined with a significantly heavier weight than other knives creates an excellent knife that offers both strength and precision. The ONYX COOKWARE™ CLEAVER is especially versatile, as it is suitable for both large, powerful motions such as cleaving and fine, precise movements such as chopping and slicing. The ONYX COOKWARE™ CLEAVER is designed for comfort and easy maneuverability with its ergonomic handle, meaning you can chop vegetables and meat for hours without discomfort.
