Product Summary The Wireless Spirometer Sensor makes it safe and easy for students to collect respiratory measurements, including flow rate, pressure, and lung volume. Ideal for studies in health and human physiology, the Wireless Spirometer Sensor streamlines experiments by providing students with real-time data, interactive graphs, and analysis tools on virtually any device. The disposable mouthpiece is designed for use with a single student that protects the sensor from particulates to ensure long-term accuracy and hygienic use. Product includes three mouth pieces. Additional mouthpieces are available in convenient packs of ten. Students can use the Wireless Spirometer to determine the volume of gas that passes through a tube during expiration, their total lung volume, and the factors that can affect it. Students can also estimate the amount of oxygen in their bloodstreams and the overall oxygen efficiency of their lungs by integrating data from a PASCO Wireless Oxygen or CO2 Sensor. Students can even estimate the amount of calories burned during an activity by analyzing their lung efficiency and total breath volume. Educational Use Only: This is not a medical device. PASCO products are designed for educational use only and should not be used in any apparatus involved with life support, medical testing, patient diagnosis, or industrial control/testing systems. Built-in Features Once charged, use all day for several classes Wireless sensor untethers students to explore breath rates and oxygen use around campus Wireless sensor blinks green at start after calibration and is ready to draw air through the sensor Easy to change mouthpiece assures accurate airflow measurement while greatly reducing any chance of cross contamination Applications Determine rates of inhalation vs exhalation for lung elasticity Determine tidal volume of lungs Determine average per breath volume of lungs Use per breath volume with O2 exchange efficiency (using separate O2 gas sensor) to determine calorie consumption Each mouth piece is intended for single student use Prefilter prevents cross contamination, keeps screen calibrated What's Included 5x Spirometer Mouthpieces (PS-2522) 1x Micro USB Cable (PS-3584)
