Emrald Labs Post Mass is a high-calorie mass gainer for people who struggle to eat enough to grow. One serve (2 scoops, 160 g) gives you 634 calories, 27.9 g of protein and 119 g of carbs, plus 1.5 g of creatine monohydrate and four digestive enzymes. The carbs come from maltodextrin, sweet potato, psyllium husk, chia seed flour and flaxseed. Choose a 2.2 kg pack (14 serves) or a 6.4 kg pack (40 serves), in 5 flavours. Emrald Labs is an Australian-owned brand, sometimes searched as "Emerald Labs". What Post Mass helps with Eating enough to gain weight: 634 calories in one shake, so hitting a calorie surplus is easier when food alone isn't enough. Building muscle: 27.9 g of protein per serve to support muscle growth when you train. Fuel for training: 119 g of carbs per serve to refill energy stores after a hard session. Strength: 1.5 g of creatine monohydrate per serve, so 2 serves a day gives you 3 g. Easier digestion: bromelain, papain, amylase and lactase to help your body break down a big, high-calorie shake. A normal protein powder has about 100 to 150 calories a serve. A mass gainer like Post Mass has more than 600. To gain weight you need to eat more calories than you burn. A mass gainer makes that easier, because drinking 634 calories is much easier than eating another full meal. Mass gainer vs protein powder Protein powder is mostly protein. A serve of International Protein Amino Charged WPI has 35.3 g of protein and only 152 calories. Post Mass has 27.9 g of protein and 634 calories, because most of the shake is carbs. Pick a protein powder if you want more protein without extra calories. Pick a mass gainer if you struggle to gain weight. Many people use both: a protein shake after training and a mass gainer between meals. Will a mass gainer make you fat? A mass gainer is just food in powder form. Any extra calories can add body fat if you eat far more than you need and don't train. Post Mass works best with regular weight training and a small, steady calorie surplus. Weigh yourself once a week. If you gain more than about 0.5 kg a week, cut back to 1 serve a day. How to take Post Mass One serve is 2 scoops (160 g). Emrald Labs suggests 4 to 8 scoops a day (2 to 4 serves): After training: 2 scoops mixed with water. Before bed or between meals: 2 scoops mixed with milk for extra calories and protein. Shake or blend well. Use more liquid for a thinner shake. New to mass gainers? Start with 1 serve a day for a week, then add a second serve once your stomach is used to the bigger shake. Sizes and value 2.2 kg pack: 14 serves, about $7.85 a serve. Good for trying a flavour. 6.4 kg pack: 40 serves, about $5.50 a serve. The best value, and lasts about 20 days at 2 serves a day. Mass gainers cost more per serve than protein powder because each serve is much bigger. On the 6.4 kg size, Post Mass works out to under 1 cent per calorie. 5 flavours In both sizes: Milk Chocolate, Strawberries & Cream and Vanilla Cream. 6.4 kg only: Salted Caramel Pretzel and Peanut Butter Cup. Milk Chocolate and Vanilla Cream are the safe picks and blend well with banana, oats or peanut butter for even more calories. Post Mass is covered by our Love the Taste Guarantee. Try up to 5 serves within 30 days. If you don't love the flavour, swap for another or take store credit. Who should take Post Mass? Post Mass is a good fit for "hard gainers" who struggle to put on weight, people in a bulking phase, athletes who burn a lot of energy, and anyone too busy to eat 5 or 6 meals a day. Post Mass is not a good fit if you are trying to lose weight. Pick a lean protein powder instead. Tips for gaining weight Lift weights 3 to 5 times a week, so the extra calories help build muscle. Eat 3 meals a day and use Post Mass between meals, not instead of meals. Add easy calories to your shake: milk, a banana, oats or a spoon of peanut butter. Sleep 7 to 9 hours a night. Muscles grow while you rest. Be patient. Aim for about 0.25 to 0.5 kg a week. What to take with Post Mass Creatine: Post Mass has 1.5 g of creatine per serve. Most people take 3 to 5 g a day, so on 1-serve days add 2 to 3 g of Booty N Buff Essential Creatine. A lean protein: Amino Charged WPI after training, with Post Mass between meals. Electrolytes: sip Dr. Hydrate while you train, especially if you take creatine. A protein snack: EQ Food The Growth Cookie adds 522 calories and 30 g of protein between shakes. Post Mass vs other mass gainers Emrald Labs Post Mass: 634 calories, 27.9 g of protein and 1.5 g of creatine per serve, plus digestive enzymes. Optimum Nutrition Serious Mass: 1,250 calories, 50 g of protein and 3 g of creatine per serve. For people who need even more calories.
