Named after the family that engineered the Brooklyn Bridge, the Roebling is built for riders who cover real distance. A Shimano Altus 9-speed drivetrain provides a wide gear range that conquers bridge inclines and lets you cruise on flat stretches without spinning out. The butted chromoly steel frame balances stiffness for efficient pedaling with just enough flex for all-day comfort. Flat handlebars give you quick, responsive steering in city traffic while keeping you in a natural riding position. Alloy linear-pull brakes offer reliable stopping power in all weather. Fender and rack mounts let you configure the Roebling for commuting, touring, or both. Puncture-resistant tires keep you rolling over rough pavement and debris. If your ride is more than a couple of miles each way, the Roebling has the gearing, comfort, and durability to make every trip feel easy. The Roebling weighs 26 lbs. That is light for steel and heavy next to aluminum. Steel flexes just enough to take the edge off a pothole instead of sending it straight up through the saddle, where aluminum is stiffer and passes more of that hit through to the rider. A steel frame can also be repaired instead of replaced. If you want the lightest thing on the rack, buy something else. If you want a bike that is still going in ten years, this is it. Five frame sizes fit riders 4'11" to 6'4". At 5'11" you are a 21/L.
